The capital city of Malaysia is known for its street foods. But, aside from stuffing food from all over the world (as is the food culture is quite diverse), there are many other things that you can do in Kuala Lumpur.
You can marvel at the architecture of some of their historical sites, you can buy a lot of things from their malls and markets, and you can even find some of the best girl escorts money can buy in the district as well.
Today, I am going to talk about some of the top things you can do while you’re in Malaysia’s famed capital city.
Eat at Jalan Alor
Since Kuala Lumpur is famous for its street foods, then it is only fitting that I will start with it in this post. Head to Jalan Alor to find many different street foods stalls- each with their own unique twist and a part of their culture in their dishes.
It is a night food market and it opens at 5 PM. The dishes that you would normally see have Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Malaysian cultures rolled into one. Seriously, you cannot eat every food offered in Jalan Alor in a week since there are really a lot of foods to choose from!
Find Stuff at Bargain Prices on Petaling Street
Dubbed as Malaysia’s Chinatown, you can find a lot of bargain shops on Petaling Street. In fact, a lot of travelers say that if you want to brush up your bargaining skills, shops at Petaling Street are ideal training grounds.
That being said, you will be greeted by many kiosks that occupy the entire street. You can find anything from watches, shoes, electronics, and a whole lot more.
The reason why you can test and hone your bargaining skills on this famous street is that all of the items here have prices that have been jacked up; probably because there are a lot of foreigners shopping in the area and they want to gain as much money as possible.
However, even if you are a traveler, you can try haggling the vendors and they will drop the prices accordingly (depending on how aggressive you are at negotiating).
Sightseeing at the Bird Park
If you are fond of birds, then I suggest that you go to Kuala Lumpur’s Bird Park. You will find more than 3000 bird species here and the place is actually divided into many different zones. Zones one and two, for example, are filled with free-flight birds. If you are going here, make sure to bring your camera with you.
Be One with Nature at the Forest Eco-Park
A lot of people actually want to break away from the city and explore what nature has to offer. Fortunately, you do not have to go too far since the Forest Eco-park is just located within the city.
Anyway, this park was used to be called the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve and it contains a lot of lush foliage. The air that you breathe in this area is so amazing and it can really help you be one with nature.
Visit Malaysia’s “Little India”
If you have the knack for amazing spices, then head on over to the Brickfields. This area is known as Malaysia’s “Little India” and most of the Indian people that reside in the country live here.
As soon as you arrive, you will be greeted by the sounds of Bollywood music and as you traverse the path, you will find many stores that offer you a lot of things, including Indian Saris and aromatic spices, to name a few.
Sky High at the Petronas Towers
The last entry on this list also happens to be a tall one (literally). The famous Petronas Towers is one of the tallest buildings in the world and if you reach the upper areas, you will see an amazing view of the city.
